The Altamont Theatre presents inspiring professional theatre and music events featuring world-class actors, singers, musicians, directors and designers in vibrant downtown Asheville and Western North Carolina. The Altamont Theatre Conservatory prepares talented students for performing arts careers and further education opportunities, and introduces inquisitive beginners to stage and on-camera adventures through classes, workshops and performance experience. A not-for-profit theatre, the Altamont kicks off its premiere season in Fall 2010 featuring inspiring musical theatre productions with notable professional actors in our intimate theatre space at 18 Church Street. The Altamont also collaborates with Asheville's prominent Arts Organizations and will present larger musical productions incorporating regional, professional talent in bigger venues, such as Asheville's inviting Diana Wortham Theatre.  Executive Director, Brian Lee, and Artistic Director, Tiffany Hampton, bring novel creativity and leadership, New York experience, plus a passion for excellent theatre, music and aesthetics. The Altamont is commited to entertain, inspire and also educate through the Altamont Theatre Conservatory, professional workshops, and open classes.
