The Altamont Theatre presents inspiring professional musical theatre featuring world-class actors, singers, directors and designers in our intimate 120 seat theatre on beautiful Church Street in vibrant downtown Asheville, North Carolina. A not-for-profit theatre, our inaugural season begins in Fall 2010! The Altamont will produce musical theatre, up-close and personal, in our flexible, intimate black-box theatre and, on-occasion, in larger venues collaborating with some of Asheville's prominent Arts Organizations. ALTAMONT THEATRE CONSERVATORY
Acting, Singing and Dance training from inspiring professional instructors
The Altamont Theatre Conservatory prepares talented students for performing arts careers and further education opportunities, and introduces inquisitive beginners to stage and on-camera adventures through classes, workshops and performance experience. Fall 2009 marks the inaugural year of the ALTAMONT THEATRE CONSERVATORY, offering accelerated training for talented young actors, singers & dancers. Musical Theatre and Acting skills anchor the curriculum and include acting technique and scene study, individual and ensemble voice training, and jazz dance and overview of other theatre dance styles. Performances will be scheduled in the Altamont Theatre when restoration is complete. Classes will be held in the landmark 5 Points Building, new home of Ballet Conservatory of Asheville, in their fully equipped studios, conveniently located at the intersection of Broadway and East Chestnut Streets.
